There is this terrific track by LTJ Bukem I think entitled Two Steps... I need to focus on two things: not to focus on my future so much cause it will only drive me crazy; secondly send those emails out for my future assignment. Life's been crazy today, I have been getting on my own nerves... seriously, I can drive myself crazy. So I'd better stop now, take a deep breath and relax. In other words get back to my daily morning gym routine and keep to it. And life's mysterious ways are still fun... turning on the tv while grabbing lunch having a superbad day and there you see Sting & Robert Downey Jr singing that kick-ass track in Ally McBeal that you have always loved. Life's perfect.... tired, tiring, but perfect. And tomorrow I'm getting back to the grind. Again. Labels: fatiguee, module4, music, state of mindIt's been a hard night's day...

It's hard to sum up what has happened to me in the past two two and a half days, so here is the essence that comes from Jennifer from tonight's dinner at that middle-eastern place in Brooklyn:
What's worse thatn ten dead babies stapled to a tree?
- One dead baby stapled to ten trees....
It's been a hard night's day today in NYC, we sort of hung out in Central Park, lying on the moan, establishing a new country (called Hunaco) that would bridge Monaco and Hungary, Marti would be President, I'd be the Secretary of Denial (someone who can always say no to questions, i.e. US declaring war on us, and i jusut say "No!"), Laci would be the Secretary of Communications, and Lucas of Foreign Affairs as he didn't speak THE language, i.e. Hungar.... life is indeed great. Central Park, zeppelin, Brooklyn and other bridges, sky scrapers fallen on their side, Chinese wall, no war, US secretary of

This is a whirlwind day for Your Humble Narrator (yes indeed I am reading Clowclwork Orange by Burgess! 15 pages to go =)), started off with a mentor meeting in TN then rushing back to Kista. The most notable event on the way was that really nice cafe latte at my fave the Lebanese place! Then due to the coffee I got crazy-excited about everything, namely
Due to the fact that we're having a movie night tomorrow I decided to pack today. I got home early, and then i had to realized that my laundry time was for yesterday and not today but got lucky enough to find an empty slot untill 7pm (today). So I did the laundry in a bit of a hurry. Then I started packing, which did not go that smoothely due to some lack of concentration, as well as for the fact that I checked the weather forecast for NYC a lot later than starting packing =)) Oki, what i managed to produce is a huge dump of clothes on my bed, i.e. the luggage is still empty.
Crayfish party

Here are a couple of pictures from the afformentioned Crayfish Party, another traditional Swedish event when people get soaked. Ehh, at least I did.
So let me introduce you to the crayfish who takes the leading role for some people during the night, ta-daaam:
For another set of people, probably not exclusive/inclusive to that previous set who went for crayfish, you have plenty of Swedish schnaps:
You also have a nice bunch of people drinking, chatting, eating, so basically having fun. Sometimes singins as well, and then absolutely drinking shots. And sometimes they burn paper...
And then there are the serious ones who gonna for sure change the world:
And the less serious ones:
And then there was me somewhere in between... seriously, somewhere pretty drunk. Eheh. Future leaders, that's what we used to say in GGP2, right?

Jessica and I have just got back from our 2-day trip along the Great Ocean Road which follows the ocean coast from Geelong for about 350 km in total. We have seen plenty of beautiful beaches, sandy ones, some others with rugged cliffs, nice weather, less nice weather, tons of milkshakes - mostly vanilla, as I am getting back to my roots these days - and, and, we just had a great time together! Shot like 500 pics in two days.... now that's what I call walking the extra mile. This is my last night here, tomorrow at 11pm I take off from Melbourne towards I guess Hong Kong, then again London, and finally will touch down in Sthlm at around 8pm on Tuesday. So I still have a whole day in Melbourne... wanna check the City Tram that goes down to the beach at St. Kilde, as well as that exhibit at NGV (Guggenheim Collection). That's it for the time being.... I enjoy the sun, will miss it in Sthlm. Labels: inEnglish, int assign, Melbourne, module4, travelVisa misery

And now ladies and gentlemen (mmmh, there is a certain movie by the same title with J. Irons and Patricia Kaas)... let's cross our fingers for my Australian visa. Meaning that it has to arrive next Friday the latest. Prego.
Today we again did a presentation for some big guys... I tend to like this let's sit down around a table, we do the presentation you ask question we discuss at any point of interaction. Feels great to get acknowledgement and praisal. I am absolutely impressed how we interact with these guys. Cause usually they are guys... a part of our conclusions they agree with - some we have to try to sell them. Mostly it goes smoothely, but there are times when we have to stand up for our opinion. I actually do not know if it is only because we are a team and then you have the supporting net provided by the others, or if I could be this definite alone as well. We will very soon see that... I think the hugest praise is always when two people agree in fron of us who usually do not agree on strategies. This makes worth our work. Indeed. Jattabra. I have my task for the upcoming two weeks, and on week 35 I am going to Australia. Life couldn't be better. It is for work, but I might get a weekend out of it to spend with Jess. And I was wandering about canceling the order for my crumpler backpack at edigital and to but one in Melbourne.

Chicken that is...

I made my very first trip to the local food store, one on each and every corned called ICA. And I had a reason, of course. After moving into a new flat the fridge is empty. Oki, not as sadly empty as H's as she likes to put it, but still empty. And by 2pm, I was hungry too, another reason. Quite a firm one though. So I put on my shoes and sunglasses, my fave d&g's, grabbed my credit card and left. So let us see what did I manage to shop:
Now that I have had my nice meal of Caesar's salad, I was thinking about what to do with the rest of the ajvar. I cannot simply eat it out of the tin, loll. But I still have a lot of chicken in the freezer - btw I do not really have a frying pan so I need to buy one next week. Maybe tomorrow in Daglivs. So I started to search for recipes with chicken and ajvar, and the first hit by Google looked promising: chicken salad with ajvar - lunch at work. I checked it out and it looks disgusting! Home made photo of a salad of chicken roasted and cut into pieces mized with ajvar and mayo (!), pfff...! Horrible what people can eat sometimes. Urghh.

I landed at Arlanda at around 8:40pm, a little late but not wasted! And here the stress is on not wasted. I will explain you the reason for this a little later, so stick to the edge of your seat. Back to now, I am sitting in the Oval Office, so to speak. Naaa, I am perhaps exaggerating a little bit here, but I am definitely sitting at a six-chair oval table, brown, woden-colored, with those oh-so-familiar white chairs. I am sitting in the living room, but the table - to be correct - is in the kitchen. Yeah, Everyone of my readers, I arrived at H's lovely apartment. Ta-daaaam! I feel great now! The past few days were a little miserable, nothing worked out as planned, and these things obviously annoyed me. Malgre que I had the past two days off, I was probably busier than ever, running errands all over Bp. So now, sitting here, at the oval table, listening to the buzzing murmur of the laptop and H's fridge, I am soooo zen. Relaxed after a shower... I feel like being Carrie Bradshaw now. And not because yesterday evening and the day before there was a re-run of Sex and the City on Viasat3. Btw, did you know, that this whole Viasat Tv family is Swedish? Or at least I think they are as here they have tons of channels. And yet again, stay tuned... loll.. I am going to come back to this TV thing a little later on. Back to this carriebradshaw effect... consider my situation. I landed in my town, this is the town I know second best in the world... now that is something. Carrie knows NYC. Then again, I am sitting in a nice and cosy apartment. I would say, perfect for a person like me, or H. I would take it anytime without asking a question.... (I know now I am using a Hungarian expression in English, but who cares...) And, and, Carrie, by chance, did rent an apartment like this. Probably even smaller. To support my theory, or better to say feeling, I am sitting in front of my laptop at 10:30pm, on a Friday night and I am writing. Not a column, but my blog. Wow, big difference! And, and, and, I could go on, but that is probably enough. This feeling is great, I like to be independent to some extent, I like to be in Sthlm, I like to feel the urge of writing, which, let me admit I have not had for ages. So life is great in Sthlm, thanks for asking. Back to me not being tired... it all started with me not getting a window seat. The plane was full, and even though probably I was the first one to check in (oki, mayb there were transfer passangers as well, what the heck!) I could not get a window seat. So I got 1D. Yepp, business class. Well, thank you. There I sat next to a Swede, what a surprise! He was in his late forties as far as I could tell, and we did not talk to eac other in the beginning.... up until I tried to open my Tiramisu which was quite an obstacle and he commented on that. And than we tarted to small talk, and it went on and on and on up until we lost each other after landing. He knows my boss, T. He is a commuter between Bp and Sthlm. All weekends in Sthlm. Basically he creates TV channels, e.g. Sport Club, and he created Sport1 (sport channels in Hungary). Senior guy, fun and talkative. I had a great time, we talked about cultures, my trainee program, his life commuting, cultural differences, mindset differences, etc. This gave me tons of energy, so that is why I am not wasted. ... Imagine you land in your town, it is gloomy and humid. Not too warm, but you feel pretty warm due to the humidity. Then you grab the first taxi, nice driver, polite, young. He let me daydream for a while then we talked. He is from Lebanon. I commented on Lebanese food. Remember, I forgot to comment on their cuisine to the guy who works with cleaning the building in Norr Malarstrand... I always regretted that... give praise and feedback as much as possible. So I grabbed the opportunity today. He moved here in '89 when he was 19. Young and beautiful. Now he said he is old and beautiful. He looked great, one of those people coming from an arabic country who looks tall, neat and great. You surely know this type. He misses Lebanon. Then drops me off in front of H's apartment. Was extremely nice to me, asked if I have the door code and everything. I like Sthlm even more. Apartment on the 3rd floor, no elevator. Or at least I could not find one =) Managed with the luggage, ehm, little sweaty. Lock worked fine. Called H, there was something on the table. A present for me. A book on Lebanese cuisine. I think I cannot express how happy I felt then... I mean, you know, there is this feeling in your heart, overhelming happiness. If you get lucky you have a couple of moments like this in your life... Like a surprise bday party, or a cook book. Knowing that someone actually thought about you, and cares for you. That's simply great.... I cannot describe it in writing... I am not a writer. So here I am, heading to bed, with a smile on my face, talking to H at the same time about tomorrow's dinner. Lovelyhappysthlmstylin... Update I forgot the muesli-yoghurt-everything waiting for me in the kitchen. Tack sa mycket, H! Labels: module4, state of mind, StockholmFuturistic

Today I talked to the guy who helped an awful lot during the last couple of months. Oh, and btw, I am going to work with him from August. Yiipppiieeee, you heard it right I might be back in lovely Sthlm earlier than I would have thought, i.e. beginning of August. My task will be supercool.... communication, as well as I might get to do present at the end of the day for some market units. I know, it couldn't be better. =))) But of course this affects a little bit my summer plans. Labels: inEnglish, int assign, module4, news, Stockholm |
